This Summer, we will be highlighting our five lovely interns, who are part of the MORE Magazine team. Seek MORE by reading their stories on who they are and why they chose MORE Magazine.
Hi! My name is Jaidyn Bills, and I am an incoming freshman at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. I was born and raised in Avon, IN, but I'm ready to find my own adventure and identity outside of my hometown. I will be majoring in Communications with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies. After graduating, I hope to start my career with a job in marketing management.
This past year, I did an internship during the first semester of my senior year, with the Communications Coordinator of my school district. Through that, I was exposed to new skills, mainly regarding video/ audio editing and writing. It definitely solidified that Communications is the right path for me. On top of that, I’ve spent the past four years on my school’s media team, where I competed at both the state and national levels, sharpening my creative and professional skill set.
I am very ambitious and most passionate about making experiences and connecting with others. While trying to maintain my busy life/work balance, I always do my best to make time for those closest to me. I have always been an advocate for female empowerment, community, and equality - three values that MORE stands for. I have never been one to keep to myself about my thoughts or opinions, and I am a firm believer that no one else should be subjected to not sharing their story.
I initially found out about the Seek MORE opportunity through my biggest inspiration - my mom. She suggested that I apply for it, and I immediately dismissed the idea, simply because I was scared of being out of my comfort zone. I ended up browsing through the MORE website and seeing their values within their mantra, I wanted to apply immediately. This was something I wanted to be a part of, even if it means getting out of my comfort zone to learn new skills. I am excited for the learning curve and to grow in the female-led workspace, and to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who all want similar outcomes of this opportunity.
This is my first semester as an intern for MORE, and I am beyond excited! To me, Seek MORE is an opportunity for me to grow with support, and alongside others who have similar goals as myself. I hope to become more confident in myself and form relationships with others whilst growing as a professional. I am excited, and only a little nervous, to build up my network and to tap into greater self-belief through constructive feedback and professional connections. Gaining this experience, freshly out of high school, makes me so excited for my future career because it will add to my portfolio and my skills. I am so grateful to have this opportunity as an 18-year-old, and I can’t wait to be a greater part of empowering the community and the people in it through stories in the Seek MORE Summer 2025 internship.
